It is normal for your HP printer to print misaligned text and images over time. This usually happens when the printer’s print head moves slightly from its original position after extended use.

If you are experiencing text and color alignment problems, especially if you recently refilled the ink or installed new ink cartridges in the printer, you should consider aligning the printheads. The print head alignment process helps align the print heads by synchronizing their movement with the paper feeder.

There are a few things to consider before starting the leveling process.

Load several sheets of paper in the printer tray. Make sure the paper is unused and clean.

Using the printer’s control panel

Remove the page from the printer’s output tray and place it print side down on the printer’s scanner glass.
Click the Scan button.

The next screen will display a message that the alignment was successful. Then you can close the HP Printer Assistant window.

You can then also use the HP Smart app to align the printheads. To do this, you must first download and install the HP Smart app from the official Microsoft Store. Then do the following:

Open HP Smart.
